Tip: a short link makes a simpler code that scans faster from across a room.

New: lock-screen Medical ID. Put your allergies and emergency contact on your iPhone or Android lock screen, readable without unlocking. Free. Make yours →
For emergencies, not a medical record. Keep it short and current. The information lives inside the QR code itself, so anyone who scans it can read it.

Guests scan to join. Great for waiting rooms and event halls.

Everything happens in your browser. Nothing you type or upload is sent to a server or saved.

Always test-scan with two phones before you print. Static codes like these never expire.

Why people use QR Medic

Most free QR sites hide the good parts behind a sign-up, or quietly route your code through their servers so they can switch it off later. These codes point straight to your link and keep working forever.

Questions

Is it really free? What is the catch?

The QR maker and the medical ID card are free with no account. Paid plans cover the parts that cost money to run, like editable codes and scan analytics.

Will my code stop working?

No. These are static codes: your link is written into the pattern itself. There is no redirect through QR Medic that could expire or be switched off.

Does a logo break the code?

A logo covers part of the pattern, so QR Medic switches to high error correction automatically, which lets the code survive up to about 30% damage. Keep the logo at the default size or smaller and always test-scan.

Is my medical information private?

Nothing leaves your browser. The flip side: the information is printed inside the code, so anyone holding your card can scan and read it. Include only what a first responder needs, and do not include your Social Security number or insurance ID.

Will first responders scan it?

Many will, but practice varies. Keep a written allergy and medication list on the card as well, and set up the Medical ID feature on your phone so it shows on the lock screen.

Every page on my DR GPT™ Labs sites ends with a branded "Share this page" QR code in the site's own colors, with its initials in the center. Scan one, or open a site to see how it looks:

How I protect your medical details

Your medical details are stored inside your QR code, not on my servers. They sit in the part of the link after the "#", and browsers never send that part to any website.

When someone scans your code, the page reads the details on their phone, then removes them from the address bar so they do not show up in browser history.

QR Medic only counts that the page was opened. It never sees your name, conditions or medicines. Search engines are told not to save or show these pages.

What you should know: Anyone who scans your code or has your link can read the details on it, the same as a paper medical card in your wallet. Only share it with people you trust, and print a new code if your information changes. On a shared phone, tap "Clear" when you are done.

Use QR Medic at your own risk. I do everything I can to protect your privacy, but I cannot foresee every way a website could be compromised.
